If ONE credit bureau deletes something do they all have to?

Recently I had several things deleted off my credit report(s) by disputing the information underneath of the Fair Credit Protection Act. I got all three credit scores and I disputed all of my debt online through all the three credit bureaus. Well, several things were deleted off of my Experian and my Equifax. Actually almost all of it. But, they are all different things!

My question...if something is deleted off of your credit report by ONE credit bureau do they ALL have to take it off or how does that work?

I have a 4,000 Repossession that was taken off of my Equifax report but not my Experian and I just want to know if they have to take it all off. To be honest I owe the money otherwise I wouldn%26#039;t care. But, I have worked long and hard to fix my credit and I was wondering if that meant that I was clear of it on there at least.

Thanks! Please only answer if you know for sure! This is SO important to me!

If ONE credit bureau deletes something do they all have to?

Nope....the 3 credit bureaus are completely independent firms....They are all required to report accurately per the terms of the Fair Credit Reporting Act....so theoretically they should all be reporting the same info....yet it doesn%26#039;t always turn out that way.....Still, there is no requirement that they have to report all items exactly the same. In this case you state the debt is accurate...so you can%26#039;t send your Experian credit report to Equifax and force them to remove accurate negative info based solely upon the Experian report not showing it....

If ONE credit bureau deletes something do they all have to?

No, the credit bureaus will report what the creditors report to them. They are just a repository for information provided by data provider

Here is a good article about this, plus alot more about credit.

If ONE credit bureau deletes something do they all have to?

you have to work at getting the info off of each one individually. It can take time and frustration....be persistent! Hope it works for you.

If ONE credit bureau deletes something do they all have to?

YOu are not the only one,I have met this type of problem before.I have good experience here to solve the problem though.http://creditreport.expertsupport.info/f...

Debt Validation - Credit Bureau?

I sent a Validation of Debt letter to company listed on my credit report. They did not respond to my request. I sent letter to credit bureau (TransUnion) asking them to remove item; however, they sent me a letter back stating that the debt was verifiied. I do not know what this debt is for and neither the bureau or company are providing me with requested documentation. What can I do? Is there another letter that I need to send out to credit bureau?

Debt Validation - Credit Bureau?

Well first off, whoever this company is just violated the Fair

Credit Reporting Act by verifying an unvalidated debt.

By law, once a collection agency receives a demand to validate letter they must cease collection activity (which includes posting to the credit bureaus) until the debt is validated.

Did you send this letter certified mail return receipt (CMRRR)? If so, you already have them on the hook for one violation of the FCRA, which you can use as leverage to get this removed. If you didn%26#039;t send it CMRRR, you need to do so again.

Assuming you sent it CMRRR the first time and have the signed copy of the green card, wait 30 days from the date it was received and send a 2nd letter, stating they have not validated the debt and are in violation of the FDCPA. Usually they will remove the listing at this point.

If, after 15 days from the date they receive the 2nd letter the listing has not been removed or validated, send them a 3rd and final letter stating they have 5 business days to remove the listing or you will sue them (and you WILL win!)

This first link is a flow chart that breaks down the process.

Debt Validation - Credit Bureau?

Follow Crazy%26#039;s advice. But note that debt validation is only required if this is a collection agency, attorney, or other 3rd party collector. If it%26#039;s the original creditor you are contacting, they do not need to validate the debt under FDCA laws.

But if you are certain this debt is now yours, and you have notified the creditor of this fact, they are still required to supply you with some sort if verification and must delete this from your report. Failure to do that could result in more penalties to be filed against them. It is now considered %26quot;willful neglect%26quot;, as they are knowingly posting inaccurate info on your report. In addition to more fines, they could lose their right to access anyone%26#039;s credit report due to terms of use violations.

Also, send a letter the credit bureau, but demand that they tell you the %26quot;means of verification%26quot;. What this means is you want to know exactly how they verified this, who they talked to, and how you can get in contact with that person.

If is this a collection agency...read on!

Crazy is more generous then I am...I don%26#039;t take it to the 3rd letter.

But if you do, try this. Go to your local court and pick up a small claims court form and fill it out. Send it (along with that 3rd letter) to the collection agency. When they see that, they will know you mean business.

I%26#039;d give you a great link to a site on how to sue creditors, but I am not at my normal computer with that info. Contact me if you need more info.

Credit Score on Credit Bureau Report VS FICO Score, Is it the same thing?

I pulled up all 3 credit Bureau reports online...got 3 seperate scores...Is each individual score the same FICO score that lenders go by when considering you for a credit card?

Credit Score on Credit Bureau Report VS FICO Score, Is it the same thing?

There are three credit bureaus...each is a separate, independent company and they use slightly different scoring models...They each have their own FICO score model. Because of this you will see different scores...

Credit bureau dispute process?

Trying to get ahead of the game, I have disputed some items on all 3 credit reports and want additional info. If a company reports only to 2 bureaus that info is current and accurate but fail to notify the 3rd bureau, is it enough cause to have it removed from the other bureaus? So if a company fails to report to all bureaus and an item is deleted from one can you have that same item deleted from another?

Credit bureau dispute process?

No , they dont have to report to all the bureaus. They can report to the one they report to...just like when you run your credit llets says to get a credit card or something they only check one place not all of them.

They wont delete them.

Credit bureau dispute process?

No. It is the prerogative of the reporter to which of the bureaus, if any, they report. Your only basis of complaint is if the information contained in ANY of the bureaus is inaccurate. You have a right to have it corrected.

Credit bureau reporting I'm deceased.....(anyone heard of this)?

The last credit card I got was prob. around sept. %26#039;06, then oct. %26#039;06 I applied for pay pal on e-bay. I got denied and got a letter stating the reason why is CREDIT BUREAU REPORTS APPLICANT IS DECEASED. All the numbers I tried to call were automated and I couldn%26#039;t reach anyone. Recently I applied for a home loan just to see what my boyfriend and I could get approved for. I warned the guy that my credit report stated that before. So of course my credit report came back saying the same thing. Only for Experian and Equifax, not for TransUnion. I have been having problems getting ahold of someone there. I sent letters asking what I need to do. Finally I found a number where I reached someone. They were rude at first and confussed. (imagine how I feel). Finally they said send a notorised paper stating that I am alive, a copy of my ID, and a electricity bill. So I am getting that done, asap. I%26#039;m just nervous why my report says that and if this will fix it. Has anyone heard of this? It%26#039;s scary

Credit bureau reporting I%26#039;m deceased.....(anyone heard of this)?

Send a certified letter to all three credit bureau%26#039;s--they have to sign upon receipt. Your social scty number is still active which is proof you-- yourself is still %26quot;active%26quot; not deceased.

You can include any other bill as evidence (any one can obtain electric/water ect in a name) but a copy of your current driver%26#039;s license and ssn card should provide proof.

Make sure social security dept has not reported you %26quot;deceased%26quot;

Only one number entered wrong by some overworked clerk can cause you a mountain of a headache.

Credit bureau reporting I%26#039;m deceased.....(anyone heard of this)?

It%26#039;s not unheard of. There are many errors made on these reports, which is wghy you should order your free copy every year from each bureau.

Follow their directions and you%26#039;ll get it cleared up fairly quickly. Make sure you contact both Experian and Equifax - you%26#039;ll need to update it on each one separately.

By the way - never apply for credit %26quot;just to see%26quot;. Every inquiry lowers your credit score.

Good luck!

Credit bureau reporting I%26#039;m deceased.....(anyone heard of this)?

Do this.....

Read the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Then go ahead and send this information to the credit reporting agencies....by certified mail/return receipt.

Inform them of the following:

1) Due to their error in reporting on your credit history, you have been denied credit. Include a copy of any documentation you have to support this....go back to the mortgage company and get a statement that you were denied credit due to this error.

2) Inform them that in accordance to the FCRA, they are liable for any damages that this report has caused you, plus penalties of $1000.

3) Inform them that unless your credit report is repaired within 30 days, you will file a small claims suit in your county court. If you can get a copy of the paperwork, fill it out and send a copy to them to prove you know what you are talking about and are ready to proceed with the lawsuit.

4) Watch the report get fixed real quick!

Contact me if you need more info. Quit being nervous....you may have just won the lottery! I love helping people with these types of cases.

Turned into Credit Bureau!!!!?

My credit card company said I have one report against me to the Credit Bureau---what happens to me now?? I sent in my payment, it went to the wrong address, I was on vacation, so by the time I got back, I had had that late payment, plus my next one. I sent them both at the same time, and the first was considered late. So they reported it to the bureau...what happens to me now?? I%26#039;m just scared I won%26#039;t be able to buy anything big in the near future. I pay way over my minimum balance and when I get out of school I plan to pay the entire thing off in a few months. Please help, I guess I should%26#039;ve read about the credit bureau before getting my card in the first place...

Turned into Credit Bureau!!!!?

Everything that you buy on credit or when to open the account you need to provide your social security number to do a credit check (not only credit card but even the utility bills or cell phone)gets reported to the credit bureau. If you have a report against you that means they reported a late (over 30 days) payment. I know that you do not like to hear this but if you have a late payment over 30 days, that gets reported and affects your credit score. If you only have one payment over 30 days it%26#039;s not that bad though. Your credit score number gets lowered and the lower the number the higher the interest rate when you apply for credit in the future and if you have missed payments with a pattern of late (30 days or worst, 60 days) payments you might not be able to obtain jobs in certain fields or rent an apartment not to mention obtaining credit... Advice is be as conservative as you can from now on. It is not relevant to pay more than the minimum required amount on a credit card or other loan, so do not think that this help in any way. What is important is to send the payments religiously before the due date ( mail it at least 5 days in advance) or pay by phone or Inet and if it happens that you passed the due date, as long as it is before they issue a new statement, and is under 30 days, pay it even though with penalties. Hope this explanation helps you.

Turned into Credit Bureau!!!!?

One late payment isn%26#039;t going to kill your credit rating, but how much it affects your credit rating depends on how much established credit you have. -- The less time it has been established, the larger the impact.

But step back for a second... if this is your only late payment, and you follow it up by more than 6 months of on time payments... the impact will not be all that significant. The credit score is designed to separate the occasional error from the consistent miscreants, so if you%26#039;ve been good for a long long time, and your card isn%26#039;t maxxed, you shouldn%26#039;t be overly affected.

Turned into Credit Bureau!!!!?

Don%26#039;t worry about it. someone with perfect credit and pays everything on time could be worse then bad credit. looks to clean you don%26#039;t want that. one late payment wont efect you. so chill relax and have a good day

Turned into Credit Bureau!!!!?

No Need to worry at all. That%26#039;ll take little or no points off at all. I think you have a right to dispute that by sending in the dispute form that came with your credit report. Sometimes these companies hope you are late by tacking on extra interest and late payment fees. They will try to get away with as much money as possible. Read your ammended user agreement. They like to make everything sound so good in the beginning and then after a few months they send you a declaration of changes to your account in their favor. This will not effect any major problems with taking out big loans in the future. Watch out for prepayment penalties on purchasing cars.

Ok thanks! (Credit Bureau question).......?

Yeah this person added me about 2 weeks ago, and I called the credit card company and they said they report to the credit bureau at the end of each month, but I have heard that it taked the credit bureau to report it to my credit repot 30 to 60 days! And 30 days is fine but 60 days is a little too late for me! But it%26#039;s usually 30 days?

Ok thanks! (Credit Bureau question).......?

The 3 major credit bureaus have a 24 hr turnaround for urgent situations. Depending on your situation, see if your company will contact them and fax in your info. Are you trying to get a mortgage?

It%26#039;s usually 30 days but sometimes the companies haven%26#039;t updated their tapes in time and it goes on the next reporting cycle. Also, if they are a small company with less than 500 accounts they do not report at all. Many people are unaware of this and are upset when the car they purchased and paid for (on time) from JOE%26#039;S AUTO will never be reported on their credit.

Ok thanks! (Credit Bureau question).......?

your question isn%26#039;t clearly written...%26quot;what person%26quot; added you? and, did they report your credit to the credit bureau? Why is it too late for you and what is too late for you? 30 days is the norm and should not be a problem for anyone. Why is that a problem for you?

Ok thanks! (Credit Bureau question).......?

Since reporting dates can differ, the actual timeframe for them to report can vary. For instance, if your account date is the 10th of each month, the company may report then. Or, they may report on the 1st of each month. So, if something happened today, they could report it tomorrow, or they could report it next month on the day they normally update with the bureaus.

But credit bureaus do update more recent than 60 days.

Ok thanks! (Credit Bureau question).......?

Yes, everything you said is correct. I just closed two credit card accounts and they both told me it would take 30-60 days to appear in my credit report. That%26#039;s normal.

Ok thanks! (Credit Bureau question).......?

Sorry, but no emergency fixes to your credit report will ever work. Do not expect that your credit score will skyrocket 30 days after you get a card reported on your credit history. First of all if you are just an authorized user it does not really carry the same weight on the report as if you were an owner of the account.

Can you rephrase the question and instead ask what is it that you are trying to accomplish, that you need it sooo urgently, perhaps we could help with advice there.

What credit bureau does Discover credit card check when opening an account?

For those of you out there who have a Discover credit card...which credit bureau did they check? Transunion,Equifax, or Experian when running your credit?

What credit bureau does Discover credit card check when opening an account?

It really depends on where you live. Credit card companies rarely pull the same credit bureau for every state.

Go to the site I%26#039;ve listed and click on Forums. Then look in the upper right corner for CreditPulls, click on that. Then type Discover in the box and put in your state.

What credit bureau does Discover credit card check when opening an account?

I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s equifax. I got a pretty high credit limit from them and equifax had the lowest credit score of the three.

Equifax, however, is the most popular in general it seems.

Credit report- State statue of limitation vs. the credit bureau 7 year limitation?

I know that every state has a statue of limitaion for the amount of time a creditor can contiune to report your debt to the credit bureaus so my first question is:

is this based on the state that you lived in when you collected the debt (all of mine is from when I lived in the state of NC 3 yrs. statue of limitation but I now live in GA who has a 4 yr. statue of limitation) or is it based on the state that you currently live in?

2nd I know that a collector can report your debt for up to 7 years so what is the difference between the state statue of limit and the 7 year statue of limitation the credit bureau allow the collector to keep reporting?

3rd all of my debt ( around $6,000) is to be removed from my credit report s (this is what my credit reports says) by 2010, so should I try to pay the debt off which is going to take me more than the 2 years or just wait for it to be removed from my credit report?

Credit report- State statue of limitation vs. the credit bureau 7 year limitation?

STATUTE

There is no %26#039;statue%26#039; of limitations.

Too many Inquires on my Credit Bureau?

I found out recently when I opened up a new chequing account that I was denied Cheques from the institution because of my credit bureau shows that I have too many inquires in a short time frame! I looked at the history and found out that last summer while I purchased a new vehicle and the dealership was trying to find financing for me...they sent it off to over 10 financial loan institutions. And they all showed up on my credit bureau. And that looks very bad. But, even though I did get a car loan ...I didn%26#039;t know this would effect my history --- until now. I was told by my bank that there is a certain number of inquires allowed when checking into your credit bureau. So how long should I wait until I try to apply again for credit? The bank associate said I have a very good rating, however, the inquiries are too high...NOT FAIR! And I%26#039;m trying to re-establish good credit some how...help...

Too many Inquires on my Credit Bureau?

Typically, the inquiries within the past 90 days are the ones that are most likely to negatively affect your credit. Usually inquiries alone would not be a reason for a denial on a credit request though.

Too many Inquires on my Credit Bureau?

you inquiries are viewed for the last year. too many gives the impression your in dire need of money and looking for additional credit.

Too many Inquires on my Credit Bureau?

Don%26#039;t worry about it. It will only be against you for about 30-60 days. In the meantime what you can do to improve your credit is..

Always pay more than minimum payments even if its a little over.

Always keep your cards less than 1/2 charged up.

ie: You have a card with $5000 credit on it don%26#039;t charge it up to over $2,500

Looking for Prepaid Credit Card that reports to the credit bureau and has small startup and monthly

I have bad credit and I am working to establish that credit. I%26#039;ve heard of the prepaid credit cards that report to the credit bureau, but some are $30 to start the account. I%26#039;m looking for the following:

- Reports to credit bureau, so that I can improve my credit.

- Low start up fee. (Under $10.00)

- Low monthly or annual fee (Under $10 p/month, $60 p/year)

If anyone knows, or has story about a good card, please respond. Thanks.

Looking for Prepaid Credit Card that reports to the credit bureau and has small startup and monthly fees.?

I think the card that you%26#039;re talking about is the Eufora prepaid card. It has a credit building program [click here https://www.eufora.com/creditbuilder.jsp... From what I gathered from the website, it only reports to Transunion and Equifax. I myself think that a secured card would work out a lot better than this, being that I%26#039;ve had one before, and I don%26#039;t know a whole lot about this. But I%26#039;ve posted the links below explaining more about the Eufora card and where to apply

Looking for Prepaid Credit Card that reports to the credit bureau and has small startup and monthly fees.?

funny you ask, I was just at my bank yest. (WASHINGTON MUTUAL) and the girl asked if i wanted to sign up for a pre-paid credit card. You put your money into it and use it, or use it as like a savings (which defeats the purpose of the card, but to each it%26#039;s own right?) anyway-i already have a debit card and credit so it seemed pointless to me, but she said they report to credit burea, and the start up fee is like 20 bucks. I know my bank is a really good bank to go through. So. . hope this helps!

Which Credit Bureau Do Landlords/Banks Look at Most?

I am in the process of looking for an apartment. I checked my credit score and it%26#039;s 689 (experian %26amp; transunion) and 665 (equifax). Which bureau do landlords look at most when looking at credit score? What exactly are they looking for on the report? And are those scores too poor for me to be considered as a potential tenant....meaning will my scores hurt my chances of getting an apartment?

Which Credit Bureau Do Landlords/Banks Look at Most?

First of all your credit score is pretty decent, infact anything over 620 is good enough to obtain a mortgage,so if you want and are willing you can buy a house to.

Secondly when looking at a credit report lenders or landlords look for things such as credit lines, length of those credit lines, payment history, accounts in collections, delinquent accounts to name a few.

And thirdly when looking at a report, the report from all three bureaus are taken into consideration and your middle score(the number between the highest and lowest) is the one which is taken as your credit score.

Which Credit Bureau Do Landlords/Banks Look at Most?

Many subscribe to all three through service providers.

Which Credit Bureau Do Landlords/Banks Look at Most?

Bambino is so wrong. Bank ,landlords ect look at all 3 bureau from that they use the middle score. To get a mortgage the bank I work for goes down to 475 credit score.

Which Credit Bureau Do Landlords/Banks Look at Most?

If what you%26#039;ll showing is accurate, your scores are very good considering most. Only why an apartment, when you can get a house instead while your score is in good standing. I could let you know thru my company what your options are if you have monies saved toward down payment and closing if needed. Landlords have the option of checking any one of the credit bureaus, so, there%26#039;s no way to be sure which would be pulled for your application. If house hunting becomes serious, call me on 832-687-0307. Thanks

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

I am planning to get a house and I need a specific credit score or better to be able to give the monthly dues I can afford. Unfortunately, my move in date is on the second week of February. So I that is why I am hoping the credit bureau will include that on my credit report within 30 days not 60, that is the reason why I did that thing in joining on to a person%26#039;s credit card to boost my credit. Comments....please...please reply!! I appreciate it!

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

not clear on the question.

You have to increase your credit score to meet a lender%26#039;s requirement so you added your name to someone elses credit card to get the account onto your credit report to boost your score?

The problem is time. Any changes you make will not hit until the next reporting cycle (30 days). You may be able to make a dent in the score with corrections of bad info in 48 hrs, but only with good documentation. Without that there may not be enough time.

Be VERY careful about merging someone else%26#039;s credit onto your report. YOU are personally liable on that card now. It is not just a technique to boost your score, it is a legal obligation to pay. (I hope its your mom...)

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

your credit score is your credit history, not someone elses, as long as you score is 580 or higher you can do 100% financing but you still need money for closing costs, the higher your credit score the better interest rate you can get if you score is down in the low 500%26#039;s you can still get a loan but not for 100%, maybe 80% or 90% of the loan and you still need closing cost money

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

If I am reading this correctly-- You are now just an authorized user on someone else%26#039;s credit card, and you are hoping that the new reporting will boost your score! If that is it then it may not and probably will not boost your scores at all. The reason is not all companies report monthly. And you may not ever get picked up in this reporting until the primary goes bad for a month. Whom ever told you to do this was dumb as h--l! You can realy only boost your score by opting out of unsolicited offers in the mail. Call 888-567-8688 To OPT OUT. This can boost your score by as much as 6-10 points in just a couple of days. Also any collections that you may have pay them off and have the mortgage banker do a line item update and that will help your score.

Good Luck to you!!

I am a mortgage banker in Tennessee

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

Do not take out anymore credit. It is not a good sign to lenders that you are able to spend more money than when they qualified you. If you are working with a good mortgage broker he should be able to do a credit repair and a rapid rescore. This can easily change your score by twenty to thirty points. If this is not enough, you may want to wait a few monthes to purchase a home. If you don%26#039;t have a broker, my e-mail is ronaldj73@hotmail.com.

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

I undertsnd what you are doing, but there%26#039;s really only a 50/50 chance it will make it there on time.

Also, take into account the fact that by adding it, the bank may also consider it a payment for each month, and lower the amounty ou qualify for- so hopefully you have a buffer.

I woudl NOT sit around and just hope it pops up on your credit in time. I%26#039;d use a contingency and get out of this particular house, to ensure you dont lose the deposit/earnest money you probably put forth.

Ok, my situation is (credit bureau).....?

But you don%26#039;t say how much you need to boost your score. If it is anything more than a few points I don%26#039;t think it would go up enough in less than a month.

As for becoming a Cosigner, you may have actually done more damage than good. As you have created an Inquiry to your record which will knock it down at least a couple of points. Then if that Credit Card is near maxed out you have hurt your debt ratio and again have lowered your score.

On top of this a lot of lenders do not like to see any new credit opened while you are in the process of buying a house.

Is there a way that the credit bureau does not allow people to look in to my history or whatever ?

is the there a way for the credit bureau not to give out my credit history or people inquiring about me ?

Is there a way that the credit bureau does not allow people to look in to my history or whatever ?

You can %26quot;opt out%26quot; of the pre screened applications. This will keep companies from sending you those pre-approved credit applications.

https://www.optoutprescreen.com/?rf=t

You can also place a fraud alert on your credit report if you have been a victim of identity theft. This will keep any new accounts from being opened up without first contacting you.

https://www.experian.com/consumer/cac/In...

Both of the above items will not cost you anything to do.

If you have not been a victim of identity theft some states do allow you to place a freeze on your account. The fee varies by state.

http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/2006...

However, this does not(and can not) stop companies that already have a pre-existing relationship with you.

Is there a way that the credit bureau does not allow people to look in to my history or whatever ?

You pay to put a credit freeze on the account.

You pay to lift the freeze as well.

When you apply for credit, you must allow enough time to lift the freeze before they try to check on it.

When getting a rental, do they check credit history from all 3 bureau or only 1?

We recently got a rental that we will move in this month and they supposedly checked both of us%26#039; credit history but I just checked Equifax and there was no inquiry for me in the last 2 years. Do potential landlord/agency check credit history from all 3 or 1 bureau? Out of 3 credit bureaus, which one is most up to date and reliable/accurate?

When getting a rental, do they check credit history from all 3 bureau or only 1?

Everything depends on the landlord, but most only check 1 bureau. While all 3 bureau%26#039;s have reports all over the country, it seems like each part of the country has a favorite one used by businesses. So, as to which one is most up to date and reliable, they all should be, but one is checked most often in your area.

When getting a rental, do they check credit history from all 3 bureau or only 1?

it depends on who they have a contract with, which is cheaper for them to use... ect. some companies will just use one. I don%26#039;t know if there is one that is used more, they should all be up to date, which is why you should check your reports often.

Since we are able to receive one free report a year from each of the companies. I check one every 4 months getting my free one each time from the different companies.

If you see any discrepancies in any of the reports you need to file a correction with that company, they have a limited amount of time to fix it.

My credit bureau says. . . .?

That my Chargeoff car(repo) was opened on 7-2001. The last activity was 3-2002. The last payment was 9-2002. When will it fall off of my credit bureau reports? Also, it was sold to someone else. When will it drop off?

My credit bureau says. . . .?

Negatvies take 7 years and 180 days to fall off your report. If the date of last activity (DOLA) is 3/02 , count from that date.

They will still come after you for payment of the balance.

My credit bureau says. . . .?

Since it was sold to some other company maybe never, they are allowed to keep reporting and keep trying to recover teh money they gave you until after your death, where they can get it from your estate.

My credit bureau says. . . .?

Auto finance is what I do for a living and the first poster is correct.

Pay no attention to the second poster. He is simply wrong. After the statute of limitations runs out there is nothing any lender can do to you legally. They can still try and collect, but they can not take you to court.

My credit bureau says. . . .?

2009. Except for tax liens and going bankrupt, everything bad lasts exactly 7 years. Good stuff, tax liens, and going bankrupt can last longer.

My credit bureau says. . . .?

7 years but in the meantime start building some positive credit.

Which credit bureau predominantly do car dealers check when buying a new car?

My score differs from each credit bureau. Can I request that they check a specific one?

Which credit bureau predominantly do car dealers check when buying a new car?

both of those answers are wrong. there are three credit bureaus yes. equifax, transunion and experian. there is no set answer as to which bureau do dealers use. i generally pull equifax and transunion, mainly because those are the two bureaus that my banks use most. i deal with about 13 different banks and they vary on which bureau they like. some lenders will use multiple bureaus most of the time the one w/ the highest score to get it to score the best in their system and get the best rates/terms. chrysler defaults to transunion, toyota defaults to equifax. wells fargo defaults to transunion but all three will use the other two bureaus. in louisiana experian is the default bureau for most lenders. amsouth, trustmark, national, capital one all prefer and usually only pull equifax, citifinance pulls either transunion or equifax , but their system defaults to whichever bureau has the most trade lines.. chase, americredit, drive all use transunion.

as far as the bureaus go themselves. there are different versions of each bureau. car lenders specifically pull an auto based bureau. housing pulls a housing based bureau. when you pull your own credit it is a general bureau, not focused towards any specific lending institution. we pull equifax 5.0 auto, and transunion auto 04 which is what most of my lenders use. but you wont be able to pull those w/out dealers licenses.

last but not least. credit scores themselves dont always make the final decision for the banks when it comes to financing or rates. most have internal scoring systems that base on risk factors, debt to income, payment to income and other variables to decide what rates/terms they will offer each person. ive seen people w/ great credit score not get financed and people w/ low credit scores get financed.

Which credit bureau predominantly do car dealers check when buying a new car?

some get a combined from all three.

it all varies, some dealers use certain ones.

Which credit bureau predominantly do car dealers check when buying a new car?

sometimes they average out the 3 credit bureaus, (i think they are esperian, equifax, and true credit). sometimes they will take the lowest of the 3 scores. also, if you are visiting a lot of car dealerships, checking your credit score a lot in a certain period of time will lower it as well. so just have your score on hand and tell them %26quot;this is my credit score, can you calculate the financing with this.%26quot;

AT&T Wireless Credit Bureau used for credit check?

Would anybody know which credit bureau AT%26amp;T wireless use for a credit check. I want to get a cell phone but not sure if I could get one because of one item on one of my report.

AT%26amp;T Wireless Credit Bureau used for credit check?

First, you don%26#039;t have to have A1 credit to get an AT%26amp;T cellphone.

If its really bad, they%26#039;ll still give you a phone but they%26#039;ll ask for a security deposit. Credit check is ran across all the bureaus.

AT%26amp;T Wireless Credit Bureau used for credit check?

It%26#039;s either Equifax or all 3 bureaus...but I do know for sure they check Equifax.

Chances are, if it%26#039;s just one item on your report that%26#039;s derogatory, you can still get service with them.

Honda Canada misreported my monthly payments to the credit bureau, what recourse do I have?

Honda Canada Financing misreported my monthly payments to the credit bureau (equifax) two years ago. I discovered it about three months after the loan started and alerted Honda Canada Finance about the issue. They assured me then that it has been corrected. This month I recived a copy of my credit report which shows that Honda never corrected the problem. My monthly payment was tripled per my credit score, which completly thre off my ratios for the last two years (specifically the ratio of my monthly payments vs my monthly income). I was told several times over the past two years that I could not consolidate other debt because this ratio was too high (well over the 40% ideal).

I am consdiering consulting a lawyer to try adn recover some of the money that consolidation could have saved me. What reecourse would I have with Honda Canada?

Honda Canada misreported my monthly payments to the credit bureau, what recourse do I have?

Save the lawyer fees for a moment and try to resolve this with Honda Financing first.

Pull your most recent credit report and then dispute the item with Equifax directly (check Transunion as well just to be sure). Then send a copy of your credit report and a letter explaining the problem, the effect it has had on your personal credit, the hardship it has caused to Honda Financial and giving them 30 days to resolve the matter fully (make sure your letter explains precisely what you consider resolved to be).

Send this letter via registered mail.

Wait 45 days (registered mail takes a little longer) and then pull your credit report again. If nothing has been done then take a copy of your letter, credit reports and so forth to a lawyer and ask him to pursue the matter on %26quot;contingency%26quot;.

Worth a shot, no?

Good luck

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

I have recently reveiwed my credit report through experian credit bureau. Several account paid are still reported as open. Do I contact the credit bureau or the credit agency itself?

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

I%26#039;ve had this same thing happen to me. The best thing for you to do is contact the place where the account is. For example, if it%26#039;s a Visa credit card that says it%26#039;s still open, call Visa. They will give you directions on how to write to their credit bureau investigation people to get it straightened out. You may also contact Experian, they can sometimes investigate it for you.

Just so you know though, this process can take up to 30 days. There is no need to pay for a lawyer, you can do this on your own. Good luck!

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

Hire a lawyer and they will help you take the necessarry steps to resolve the issue.

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

Having accounts paid doesn%26#039;t necessarily mean they are closed. In fact, having open accounts with zero balances is often a good thing (especially if they are old). I would be very careful about challenging a listing on this basis. You can of course, but if they aren%26#039;t showing delinquencies or something that will negatively impact your FICO you may be better off leaving them alone.

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

There%26#039;s no need to hire a lawyer. All you have to do is contact the credit reporting agency (in this case Experian) and tell them the information in inaccurate.

They may ask you if you have proof that you paid the account. If that is so, then you have to show them proof. If you don%26#039;t have the proof with you, you can always contact the company and they will be happy to give you the proof you need to get your credit report corrected.

Good luck.

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

Call them up and dispute their claim against you. To do this however you will have to provide proof. And once they are satisfied then they can adjust your credit rating to a better score.

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

if you viewed your credit report from experian online then you can log into your credit report again and when you do there should be the option to dispute somewhere on the page if you click on this and then follow the steps and just let them know that they have been paid then experian will contact the creditors and find out when and if they are paid and then if they find what you say is true they will update your credit report sometimes it may take up to 30 days for the results to be displayed but they will also send you a statement in the mail showing the changes made to your credit report, I have had to do this several times and they always get it taken care of this way! Best of Luck

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

Dispute it with the credit bureaus. Many people sell this kind of recovery technique when it is available to everyone. The creditor must respond within a certain number of days. If they don%26#039;t the negative information is removed from your credit report. This even works for people who DO owe the debt! Write a letter disputing the record. Since you are paid up, you may want to include that proof as well.

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

They have a link on the Experian page to dispute your report. They will send you a letter telling you the results..BUT remember if you receive a letter asking you for your SS number or any other information it%26#039;s a pishing letter I received one that looked just like Equfax stating they need more info and I had to prove my identity to them they wanted my SS number as well as my Drivers Licensee number my last known address.I did not send them anything I called Equfax they told me it was a fraud letter.

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

If someone has gotten credit in your name, contact the credit agency you got your report through. They will most likely tell you that you have to go to your local police department and file a report. The next steps depend on how serious the inaccuracies are.

GOOD LUCK, I am going through the same thing right now, it really angers me because we were going to buy a house this year, and now it will take two to three to clear up my report.

Use your own credit or don%26#039;t use any at all!!!!!

If information viewed on my credit report from the credit bureau is in accurate, what do I do?

Contact the credit companies AND the credit bureau.

File online disputes with all 3 credit bureaus and call up the credit companies -- tell them to have the file removed from your report as the acct is paid in full. Unfortunately, some credit companies will refuse to remove the file even after you pay them.

You really have to press both of them to remove those items because they will affect your credit negatively the longer they remain on your report.

How do I write a letter to credit bureau to have report updated?

I have been recently been paying things off on my credit. And I was told to send a copy of the reciepts to the credit bureau with a letter attached. What should the letters say?

How do I write a letter to credit bureau to have report updated?

You can update online. Check all things that are wrong and dispute anything you want changed. Then they will check it out and send you the results. The credit bureau just puts in what creditors tell them and do not change them unless you go through their dispute section. It was about 6 years aga when I had to do that but I do not know if things changed. You can get your credit report online and all the info will be there if you have a dispute.

How do I write a letter to credit bureau to have report updated?

The creditor will report the paid status of the debts. You don%26#039;t have to send any letters or receipts. It will take up to 60 for the update, depending on when the creditor makes their regular update report.

Paying off old debt will not improve your credit score, unless you get the creditor to delete for payment. The damage is already done and it will take 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency for the negative to fall off your credit report.

However, creditors do review your whole credit report, not just the score. Paid old debt looks much better than unpaid.

How do I write a letter to credit bureau to have report updated?

My suggestion is trying to get as much as information as you could before making any decision, here is a good resourece.http://creditreport.onlineidea.info/com-...

If you request proof of the credit bureau's vertification, are they to provide the requested in

when you request copies of the reinvestigsted info and the person who vertified the credit file update to the credit bureau%26#039;s, are the credit bureau%26#039;s obligated to provide this information..

so what do you do when a credit file contains no change, but they say the vertified and updated the information?

thanks

ted

If you request proof of the credit bureau%26#039;s vertification, are they to provide the requested info?

Page 48 of the link below from the Fair Credit Reporting Act states they must provide the information you are asking for.

搂 610. Conditions and form of disclosure to consumers [15 U.S.C. 搂 1681h]

(iii) Additional information. As part of, or in addition to, the notice under

clause (ii), a consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in

(II) the business name and address of any furnisher of information

such information; and

(III) a notice that the consumer has the right to add a statement to the

If you request proof of the credit bureau%26#039;s vertification, are they to provide the requested info?

Yes, it can be FAXed to you.

If you request proof of the credit bureau%26#039;s vertification, are they to provide the requested info?

They should send you material proof or change it.

If you request proof of the credit bureau%26#039;s vertification, are they to provide the requested info?

Yes, and which one was used as well. Then you can protest any incorrect information provided the creditor. They tell you to check your credit report at lease once a year for a reason. And you should.

If you pay a credit bureau, would your garnishment stop?

i got got my wages garnished because i couldnt pay what the credit bureau wanted me to pay, so now they are garnishing my wages and i was just wondering if you pay the credit bureau if the garnishment would stop?

If you pay a credit bureau, would your garnishment stop?

No. The credit bureau just reports the activity. You have to pay it through the courts where the garnishment.originated. They will have to report the payment to the credit reporting agencies.

If you pay a credit bureau, would your garnishment stop?

You need to pay whomever it is that placed the garnishment.

If you pay a credit bureau, would your garnishment stop?

Nope

If you pay a credit bureau, would your garnishment stop?

you need to file bankrupt to stop it.

How fast would a credit bureau update your credit report when you pay your outstanding debts?

Let%26#039;s say a potential employer wants to check your credit, and does, but tell you that you have to bring your debt down below a certain amount to work for them. So if you were willing to pay some of your outstanding debts, how fast will the credit bureau update it?

How fast would a credit bureau update your credit report when you pay your outstanding debts?

unless you call them they don%26#039;t. It is a priority for people to add you to the credit bureau, but once you pay them they forget you exist

How fast would a credit bureau update your credit report when you pay your outstanding debts?

Usually within 90 days- I would recommend continually caling them to speed it up-that may help

How fast would a credit bureau update your credit report when you pay your outstanding debts?

Depends on the reporting company that you pay. I had a bank that didn%26#039;t report payment until many years later. I called them and the credit bureau about it and it is now completely off my record because of their mistake.

If your employer won%26#039;t hire you due to debt, do you really want to work for them?

How fast would a credit bureau update your credit report when you pay your outstanding debts?

The important thing to remember is that credit agencies will do nothing to adjust your credit rating or update your report without pressure from you. Since most of them try to review credit on a 30 day scale, even if you made payments in excess of your usual payment, if you do not call them and tell them you would like an instant review, they will wait to see if your adjusted payment trend continues into the next cycle. Be agressive when you do this and contact them after your payments have cleared.

How fast would a credit bureau update your credit report when you pay your outstanding debts?

The max is 90 days, you have to call them and send proof you%26#039;ve paid though. I%26#039;m but chances are it will not bring your credit score up what you will have to do is begin opening new lines of credit, like secured cards or loans.

IS there a way to find out which credit bureau a creditor uses to approve or deny your application?

I am 19 and have an account on Experian that is not mine, I am currently disputing it however its charge off and has that score at like a 537. I have okay credit with transunion and equifax (690 and 671) and I have been told that creditors subscribe to a credit bureau and use it every time they receive an application to approve or deny. When I call and ask they say %26quot; we use all three%26quot; which is not true b/c when i get the denial letter it lists which credit bureau they checked.

I am NOT going to apply for too many cards and have heard the American Express ONE is pretty easy to get. I have added a security freeze to my experian file so if anyone tries to use that bureau, they will be rejected ( as they would deny me if they seen the charge off). I just want to know if there is anyway to find out which bureau a creditor uses BEFORE applying for their card?

IS there a way to find out which credit bureau a creditor uses to approve or deny your application?

There really is no way for the general public to know.

The lenders that I use to secure auto loans I know which bureaus they look at because I have to know.

Most lenders pull differ ant bureaus based on Zip codes.

Of the 15-lenders I use not one of them pulls all three.

IS there a way to find out which credit bureau a creditor uses to approve or deny your application?

There really is no way to know which bureaus a lender will check beforehand. They sometimes use one, or two...rarely do they use all three unless it%26#039;s a major loan such as a mortgage.

You would only know after the transaction. My advice would be to have your Experian report cleaned up before you apply for anything else. That way, you won%26#039;t have to worry about which source the lender is using.

IS there a way to find out which credit bureau a creditor uses to approve or deny your application?

They probably do use all 3, just not for every inquiry. And, no, there is no way to find out in advance which they will use except asking them. I bet that whoever you ask doesn%26#039;t know anyway.

Does anyone here work at one of the credit bureau's? I have a general question..?

I would like to receive an answer from someone who works at one of the bureau%26#039;s - I had a bad Credit Card that began to show negative on my report in 1998 - on a Credit report dated in 2001 it still showed from the CC with an open date in 1998 - then I pulled a credit report in 2003 %26amp; it showed a company called FMS (open date 06/2000) - On last years report it showed that the debt was estimated to fall off in 01/2006) - I pulled my credit report a few days ago %26amp; FMS then sold to a new collection agency with an open date on 09/2005 meaning it will stay on there until 2011!!!

I%26#039;ve disputed it with the credit bureau%26#039;s - %26amp; tried to explain what had happened鈥?will they delete off?

Does anyone here work at one of the credit bureau%26#039;s? I have a general question..?

Trust me, I%26#039;ve been studying this for a year now....I%26#039;ve been to court and sued over this issue...and won!

Forget the previous answers, they don%26#039;t bother to research their answers. It%26#039;s all right there in the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Below is the section you need to know:

==============

605(c)(1) and 605(a)(4)

搂 605. Requirements relating to information contained in consumer reports [15 U.S.C. 搂 1681c]

(a) Information excluded from consumer reports. Except as authorized under subsection (b) of this section, no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information:

(4) Accounts placed for collection or charged to profit and loss which antedate the report by more than seven years.(1)

(c) Running of reporting period.

(1) In general. The 7-year period referred to in paragraphs (4) and (6)(2) of subsection (a) shall begin, with respect to any delinquent account that is placed for collection (internally or by referral to a third party, whichever is earlier), charged to profit and loss, or subjected to any similar action, upon the expiration of the 180-day period beginning on the date of the commencement of the delinquency which immediately preceded the collection activity, charge to profit and loss, or similar action.

====================

What this means is your debt can only be reported by the credit bureau for 7 years, beginning on the day of the delinquency.

NOT the charge off date.

NOT the day you opened the account

NOT the day it was sold to a new collection agency

NOT the last transaction date

NOT the last time you communicated with the creditor

What is happening here is the collection agencies are %26quot;re-aging%26quot; your debt in order to keep it on your credit report. This is ILLEGAL and you can easily sue them for $1000 in small claims court, plus any damages this false report may have caused you (higher interest rate or denied credit).

They are doing this because you don%26#039;t know the law and you are letting them get away with it!

You have disputed it with the bureau and nothing has happened. Why?

YOU AREN%26#039;T DOING IT RIGHT!!!

This is a simple fix. Follow these directions.

Send a certified letter/return receipt to the credit bureaus that are listing this debt. Dispute it with them, and send them any documentations you have to show the age of this debt. That 1998 credit report is a great start.

Send a letter to the collection agency/creditor and demand that they %26quot;validate%26quot; the debt. Note that you need to phrase it this way. Validate means they have to supply you with contracts, bills, receipts, and everything used to calculate what they claim you owe. %26quot;Verify%26quot; is what the credit bureaus will do, and that simply involves them contacting the creditor and asking if the debt is legit. They don%26#039;t really investigate anything.

After 30 days, they must either send you this proof that the debt is legit, or they must remove the listing from your credit report.

If they don%26#039;t, send one last letter to the credit bureau demanding a re-investigation. If the creditor/collection agent did not send you validation information, tell the bureau that you want the listing removed due to %26quot;lack of validation%26quot;.

If it%26#039;s still not removed, file a lawsuit in small claims court. It doesn%26#039;t cost that much, it%26#039;s easy to file, and you won%26#039;t need a lawyer.

Read the links I%26#039;ve supplied below.

Contact me if you need more help. I am not a lawyer or credit counsoler, just someone who has fought with creditors and have helped many others do it.

Does anyone here work at one of the credit bureau%26#039;s? I have a general question..?

No not until the debt is paid or removed by bankruptcy court

Does anyone here work at one of the credit bureau%26#039;s? I have a general question..?

As long as the debt keeps being sold, it will stay on your credit report.

Send a certified letter to the collection agency requesting signed copies of all receipts, as well as all statements for the card. They won%26#039;t be able to produce it, so they will have to remove the debt from your file.

I want to update my employment information with Credit Bureau. How do I do that?

I am new to US. have been here for 2 months. so, I don not have any credit cards. When I see my credit report, I cannot see my employment records. I came to know that only credit card companies update the employment records with Credit Bureau. The other option is for the individuals to update it directly with Credit Bureau. I am not sure how to do this.

I want to update my employment information with Credit Bureau. How do I do that?

When you get a FREE copy of your credit report there should be a sheet that comes with it with for corrections, or you can make a copy and cross out the old address and write in the new one and send it to them. I received a sheet to contest any wrong info that was on the report I filled it out completely with all the old info crossed out and then adding new info.

I also added a 100 word statement. and I had them verify any info that I didn%26#039;t think was correct, if they can%26#039;t verify that they have to remove it and they have to remove anything you contest for 90 days........

I want to update my employment information with Credit Bureau. How do I do that?

Information listed on your credit reports come from credit bureau members and public records. If you want your employment listed, apply for credit. If the creditor is a due paying member of credit bureaus, your employment will be listed.

If your credit bureau files contain incorrect information, you can dispute it with the credit bureaus.

I want to update my employment information with Credit Bureau. How do I do that?

On your credit report there should be a phone number to contact the credit bureau. Call them and see if they can help u update your info. Sometimes they also send u a page that u can send back to them. This page is for mistakes in your report or if any info is wrong. U could fill that out and send it back. Try these websites that I list. They may help u too. They are all 3 of our credit bureaus.

I want to update my employment information with Credit Bureau. How do I do that?

Employment records have no affect on your credit score. It really makes no difference. I don%26#039;t think my report shows any employment record.

When does a collecton agency report to a credit bureau?

Got a paper from Credit Protection Association asking to pay blockbuster $10. I was never aware of this balance and paid it right away.

will this be reported to the credit bureau? When do collection agencies report debts?

When does a collecton agency report to a credit bureau?

Usually, they report you to the bureau after 30 days. You should be OK, but check your credit report just to be sure.

When does a collecton agency report to a credit bureau?

Once it goes to a collection agency, it%26#039;s usually been reported.

When does a collecton agency report to a credit bureau?

If you received a past due bill from a collections agency, then the debt has already been reported to the credit bureau. Sorry.

When does a collecton agency report to a credit bureau?

Never ..!

A collection agency is the servant of the debt holder. The debt holder reports your activity OR

A collection agency can assume a contract to collect the debt and keep a portion of the debt but they don%26#039;t report to the agency OR

A collection agency can purchase a %26quot;block of debt%26quot; from a debt holder. In this case they try and collect and work the percentages. Typically they only pay pennies on the dollar fo the purchase of your debt. Again, they report noting to any agency

Writing the credit bureau?

Does anybody know how long it takes the credit bureau to respond to letter?

Writing the credit bureau?

Depends on what you are writing about, but if you are disputing something on your credit report they have to respond within 30 days to prove or disprove that the item is yours, or it has to be removed.

Writing the credit bureau?

am so sorry i have no idea about this nor have an idea of who can help.

Can I have my car payments manually reported to the credit bureau?

I bought a car from Car-Mart and I%26#039;m close to having it paid off now. Car-Mart doesn%26#039;t report to any credit agencies but I have very little credit history (which is why I had to go to them in first place) and I would like to see this reflected on my credit report.

I%26#039;ve heard rumors that you can contact the credit bureau and ask for a form to have your creditor fill out that can then be reported back to the bureau. Is this true? If so, which of the three credit bureaus would I need to contact?

Can I have my car payments manually reported to the credit bureau?

Auto finance is what I do for a living and you need to contact all three bureaus and ask them for the forms.

Now, even if you get this account added, the only things that will show are the opening date, closing date and the amount borrowed. No payment history, so it really will not help you much.

Can I have my car payments manually reported to the credit bureau?

It%26#039;s up to the lender to report or not. No one HAS to subscribe

Can I have my car payments manually reported to the credit bureau?

you can still use them as a credit reference when you go to get another loan but you cannot make your own credit report

Can I have my car payments manually reported to the credit bureau?

All credit agency have different ways of evaluating credit scores. So i would suggest to contact all of them.

Can I have my car payments manually reported to the credit bureau?

You can ask the credit bureau to add the car loan to your report. They will charge you a fee. It won%26#039;t be updated but at least it will show.

A car dealer is having trouble pulling my credit, however my BOA Score Monitoring lists my score and true recent inquires.

They need two weeks to get a report. I won%26#039;t pay $34 to find out I can%26#039;t pull it ..

Back in the day... you could go to a local credit bureau office and see a copy for a fee, immediately.

If anyone in Orange County (California) knows of an office in the area, it will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Nope no %26#039;credit bureau%26#039; offices anymore like back in the day. However you can get a copy yourself online -www. creditreport.com

Is there a Local Credit Bureau Office in Orange County, SOCAL where you can receive a copy or your report?

How many inquiries in a month the credit bureau will consider it as 閳ユ涪oo many recent credit inquirie

I noticed that one of the reasons that lower the credit score is 閳ユ涪oo many recent credit inquiries閳? So, how many inquiries in a month the credit bureau will consider it as 閳ユ涪oo many recent credit inquiries閳? Does it lower the score by 5 pts. each inquiry?

How many inquiries in a month the credit bureau will consider it as 閳ユ涪oo many recent credit inquiries閳?

If you personally check your own credit score it should not lower your score at all.

If you have it checked by credit card companies, lendors or creditors a lot, two things happen:

1. the act of checking or %26quot;running%26quot; your credit does lower it a few point each time it is checked.

2. more importantantly the act of having your credit %26quot;run%26quot; by credit card companies, lendors or creditors shows that (1) Most of the creditors you apply to deny you and that is why you keep applying places and (2) you are over using your credit, already have enough credit cards, enough loans, etc., and you are not a credit worthy person to future potential creditors.

How many inquiries in a month the credit bureau will consider it as 閳ユ涪oo many recent credit inquiries閳?

Too many is more than 2 per year !!! Yes, that few !

It lowers your score by 20-30 points.

Who is the fourth credit bureau reporter?????

Does anyone know about the new credit reporter??? When we pulled our credit bureau report and then called to correct errors...We found out there is a 4th reporting agency out there..besides Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion

Who is the fourth credit bureau reporter?????

There are many other credit bureaus, both local companies handling local business for the 鈥淏ig Three鈥?and credit bureaus which the 鈥淏ig Three鈥?themselves use to verify information during credit disputes from consumers. But, I think the one you are referring to is Innovis.

Other major ones besides Equifax, TransUnion and Experian include:

Innovis

Innovis is a new credit bureau currently being developed by CBC Companies. The credit files it is keeping are not complete, as they have not yet wooed the majority of creditors to sign up with its system as have the other three bureaus.

LexisNexis

This company serves as a repository for many public records and is used by the 鈥淏ig Three鈥?to verify consumer鈥檚 public information.

ChexSystems

Bet you didn鈥檛 know there was a 鈥渃redit bureau鈥?just for checking accounts, did you? It鈥檚 called ChexSystems, and if you ever have the honor of being listed with ChexSystems, you鈥檒l have a very tough time opening up a new checking account.

If you鈥檙e on their 鈥渂lacklist,鈥?there are still a few banks which don鈥檛 use ChexSystems.

ChoicePoint

ChoicePoint is a consumer reporting agency which keeps track of your auto claims and insurance history.

You should request your reports from each of these places to see what is being reported about you! By law, you get 1 free report per year from each of them!

Who is the fourth credit bureau reporter?????

Is there a fouth? I%26#039;ve never heard of it.

Who is the fourth credit bureau reporter?????

I have never heard of this. But I will be watching this question to see the answer. I know that they have rearranged the actuall credit scores and now they have what%26#039;s called a %26quot;vanatge score%26quot; which is all your 3 credit scores averaged together to get one score. I did however ask one of the credit bureaus about this and they sounded clueless, so maybe it%26#039;s not up and running yet. But I%26#039;m sure you can google more information on it.

Who is the fourth credit bureau reporter?????

There is a %26quot;hidden%26quot; fourth credit reporting agency. They are called Innovis/CBC. They were mainly used by companies to determine if they want to send you those Pre-Approved applications for credit cards. They are not a major player in the lending industry yet.

How do i access the Credit bureau india information for knowing my defaults list?

I was in business for 10yrs from 1991 to 2001 in India duriong which time i ran into heavy losses which resulted in my non payment of credit card , bank loans and home loan. However I later repaid my home loan and a bank loan as well.I still owe my credit card payment. I wish to go in for a settlement of the same. Is this payment going to set my record straight and gives me eligibility for future loans , in India. I am keen to know the list of defaults in my name , with the credit Bureau(India) to enable me to deal accordingly

How do i access the Credit bureau india information for knowing my defaults list?

As per the http://www.cibil.com/faqs.htm# web site you can not probably get the infromation from the CIBIL. You can ask the bank you had borrowed from for this information. If they agree may be they can get it from CIBIL and hand over to you. However I still do think that by replaying the loans you will improve your chances of getting another loan or getting any other type of credit.

I will suggest you take the help of some CA.

I am in credit bureau. Is my debt causing interests? What happens next?

This is my first time that I appear with a debt in my credit score in the main 3 bureau agencies. (experian, etc) . What should I do? How long does the bad record stays there for? Is it causing interests?

I am in credit bureau. Is my debt causing interests? What happens next?

You question isn%26#039;t very clear. Are you in default for a debt? Is it actually yours? If it isn%26#039;t your debt, dispute it with the credit bureaus.

Just because you stopped paying, doesn%26#039;t mean interest and other fees don%26#039;t continue. If this is the first negative on your credit report, you should contact the creditor and work out payment arrangements. Get any settlement arrangement in writing before you pay and don%26#039;t give them access to your bank account.

Negatives stay on your credit report for 7 years and 180 days from the date of delinquency.

I am in credit bureau. Is my debt causing interests? What happens next?

delinquent credit stays on your report for 2 yrs...bankruptcy is longer. you need to pay one time and keep your credit cards no more than half the limit.

lenders use the credit reports to determine how you pay others to decide if you qualify for a loan. too much credit can hurt you as much as late pays or being over the limit.

visit your bank or credit union and have them counsel you.

Are there any companies that help get your credit up? write letters to the credit bureau?

I have had some problems in the pas with my credit and I have a extremly low credit score 450%26#039;s. I was able to get a car loan in 2006 from capital one but i need to get my score up. I heard that you can write letters to the credit bureau and if the creditor doesn%26#039;t respond they have to take it off?!? Is this true? How do you do it?

Are there any companies that help get your credit up? write letters to the credit bureau?

Hi Kristin B,

I have included a link to below which helps in getting higher or repairing credit score repair

http://loans-guru.com/credit-score-repai...

Are there any companies that help get your credit up? write letters to the credit bureau?

I would not trust a company to do it for me, you can do it yourself, get a copy of your credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus then, start writing the disputes letters to the credit reporting agencies, they will contact the company, if the company verifies it , it will remain, if they dont then they will remove it.. And if they dont contact the companies individually and then arrange for a settlement on the accounts, dont apply for any credit for about 1 year , and pay your current credit obligations then you will see your credit to began improving..

Are there any companies that help get your credit up? write letters to the credit bureau?

There are lots of companies willing to take your money for credit repair. Problem is there is very little they actually do.

Get your credit report. If there are any errors, dispute them with the credit bureau. Legitimate items stay on your credit report for 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency.

The letters you%26#039;ve heard about is the theory that you dispute every bad thing on your credit report, hoping that the creditor won%26#039;t respond to the credit bureau and the item gets removed. Problem is, the item can be put back on as long as it is within the 7-1/2 reporting period.

You might be able to negotiate delete for payment settlements with some of you bad debt. Things like cell phone, utilities, medical bills and other single entry items are more likely to agree. Get any settlement agreement in writing and keept it along with your payment reciept forever. Don%26#039;t give the collection agency direct access to your bank account.

Paying old debt won%26#039;t improve your score (unless you get the item deleted). The damage is already done. But paid old debt looks better than unpaid. Creditors look at your whole report, not just the score.

You will need at least 24 months of consist, on time payment history to start improving your score.

7 tips to improve credit score

1. Pay your bills on time. Your payment history is a major factor (35% of your FICO score) in determining your credit score. If you pay your bills late, or had an account referred to collections, your credit score will take a major hit.

2. Sign up for online banking and make sure your regular recurring bills are paid automatically. This way you will not forget a payment that will wind up reducing your credit score.

3. Increase your credit limit. Another large factor is the amount of your debt in relation to your credit limit. If you have a card with a $10,000 credit limit and your balance is $9,000, this will not help to improve your score. To make the debt/credit limit ratio look better, you can try to call your credit card company and request an increase in your credit limit. Don%26#039;t use the extra credit though! That defeats the whole purpose and puts you further in debt!

4. Don%26#039;t apply for many cards at once. This will not improve your credit score because this is a characteristic of high credit risk groups.

Are there any companies that help get your credit up? write letters to the credit bureau?

There is a site called http://www.creditinfocenter.com that contains a ton of consumer information. There is a section on credit repair that will walk you through the entire dispute process.

This is the very same procedure the %26quot;credit repair%26quot; companies use, but charge you a fortune.

What you heard is true. By law, if you file a dispute with the credit reporting agency, they must verify the report with the creditor within 30 days. If the creditor does not respond to the investigation request, the item must be erased from your report.

From my experience, about 30%-40% of creditors fail to respond. They either lost track of the records, or just don%26#039;t want to spend the time and money looking for them.

What was the need for the 4th credit bureau?

there are as it is 3 credit bureaus - experian, transunion, equifax but why did innovis come into being?what was the need for another credit bureau - the innovis??

What was the need for the 4th credit bureau?

Here%26#039;s an article explaining about Innovis

http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/mortgag...

What was the need for the 4th credit bureau?

Money, these guys make money off of reporting credit. So Innovis is coming into that market place because they beleive they can turn a profit doing so.

How report somebody to credit bureau?

if a person own me money, should i first take him to court or i can report him to credit bureau?

How report somebody to credit bureau?

After you take him to court, a judgment will be awarded in your favor and this will show up on his credit. And will affect it negatively. All court judgments, small or big, against you will show up on your credit.

How report somebody to credit bureau?

You can take him to court - small claims court is good if the amount fits within the limits in your locality.

You can%26#039;t just report somebody to a credit bureau.

How report somebody to credit bureau?

You could maybe take him to small claims court, but you have to be able to prove he owes you money to win your case. No, you can%26#039;t report him to the credit bureau%26#039;s unless he owes you money through a business you own and once again you would have to have documentation of this debt.

Bank reporting to the credit bureau?

I have been doing business with a bank for the past 5 years, and they don%26#039;t report to the credit bureau.... I heard that if you request for them to, they have to? Is that true? Advice on approaching the subject to the bank?

Bank reporting to the credit bureau?

I don%26#039;t know if they %26quot;have to.%26quot; Some will but they may end up charging you a fee to do so. My advice, talk to someone that you%26#039;re use to dealing with at the bank (loan officer, etc.) and ask them about it. The most they can do is say they won%26#039;t do it - no harm done.

Bank reporting to the credit bureau?

What you need to do is ask a manager. You have a right to know their policy.

Bank reporting to the credit bureau?

It depends on what type of business you%26#039;re doing with them. If you have a checking account with a bank, there%26#039;s really nothing for them to report. Nothing on savings either.

If you have a loan or credit card, they should be reporting your payment history.

Bank reporting to the credit bureau?

Hi!

Nope. Not true at all. Banks don%26#039;t normally report anything to the bureaus..they do pull credit reports on new customers, though.

I don%26#039;t think you should bother them at all about this.

Does DCU report to credit bureau for secured cards?

I am applying for secured card from DCU but need to know whether they report to credit bureau and how many of them do they report to?

Does DCU report to credit bureau for secured cards?

You will have to ask DCU, because not everybody reports items to credit bureaus

Does DCU report to credit bureau for secured cards?

anytime you apply for credit you will always have a credit check. even though it is secured they still look at your credit. it allows them to know that you are who you are. identity theft.

FICO Score from SAME credit bureau different, why?

I%26#039;ve noticed the FICO Scores mortgage companies pull up from the big three credit bureau agencies are lower than the ones I buy direct from MyFICO.com when purchased the same day! Experian was the worst with a 36 point difference. Is MyFICO.com samming me into believing my ability for a lower rate is within reach? This smells like a big class action lawsuit. Last month I got an email about a class action lawsuit against one of the CBR%26#039;s and MyFICO, but these things always end up discounting $2 from future purchases.

FICO Score from SAME credit bureau different, why?

There are several different types of bureaus that can be pulled. Standard, auto enhanced and super enhanced. The scores on these will always be different because the information contained on them is not the same.

FICO Score from SAME credit bureau different, why?

All three agencies receive different infomation from different creditors. Some creditors use only one agencies, where some use all three. Experian is always the worst, it%26#039;s the same with my credit score aswell as most people I talk to.

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

My home gas company never disclosed to me that they would be reporting my payments to the credit bureau.i just pulled my credit report and saw 2 late payments(its the only late payments i have in my 7 year history!).they send me bills but its usually erratic so i may have missed those payments.I have called them to remove the late payments,i also told them that i am willing to pay a late payment fee but they have refused. Do i have any legal options?.i am trying to buy a house but the late payment is hurting me

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

Since they extend credit they have every right to report it to the credit bureaus. I also suspect somewhere at sometime they did disclose this information in real fine print.

Your anger is misplaced, you paid the bills late and you have no cause for a lawsuit.

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

If that was me I would change utilities company and see if they like loosing you as a customer and be sure you advertise that fact to anyone who will listen.

Your offering to pay the late fee should have made things right again after all it was only 2 payments.

I think legally they have to accept the payment ask about it I%26#039;m sure that%26#039;s correct well in Oz it is.

I would have been furious if I found out the same thing

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

if you have an open account with anyone then they can report it to the credit bureau and they i really nothing that you can do about it because you were late then they have a right to report it to

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

I don%26#039;t think anyone has an obligation to tell you that your payments are being reported to a major credit bureau. That%26#039;s pretty much what credit bureaus do. Anywhere you have a payment account of any type, you should assume that someone somewhere is keeping track of its status.

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

you are not going to like this, but the only thing that counts is your bill was paid late. twice. it is your responsibility to make payment on time regardless whether you recieve the statement or not. all the liars and decievers have made things the way they are and now we have to suffer. make sure you know when all your bills are due andmake sure your payments do not get lost in the mail by checking with your bank to see if your checks have cleared deposit. maybe just maybe with some kindness the company will remove the late payments for u, just remember they do not have to

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

Unfortunately, yes they do report late payment to the CRA%26#039;s and there is nothing one can do about this. Here is the definition of who has authority to report negative payment history to a credit reporting agency.

(d) Definitions. For purposes of this section, the following definitions shall apply:

(A) a financial contract between a person and a consumer which is in force;

(B) the purchase, rental, or lease by the consumer of that person%26#039;s goods or services, or a financial transaction (including holding an active account or a policy in force or having another continuing relationship) between the consumer and that person during the 18-month period immediately preceding the date on which the consumer is sent a solicitation covered by this section

Can i sue my utilities company for reporting to the credit bureau without disclosing to me?

First, if you have a seven year history an that%26#039;s the only derogatory information, you are in good shape. It shouldn%26#039;t count that much against you in getting a mortgage. Warning: some mortgage lenders make a big deal out of little things, trying to convince you that you have bad credit so that they can push you into a special plan for people with %26quot;bad credit%26quot;, which is much more profitable for them. This happened to me. (I had a couple little things on my report.) I went to a different lender who didn%26#039;t care about a couple little things in a generally good history and was quoted a rate 3% below the first company on a 30-year fixed. My point is that there is no one set of loan rules. Every lender is different.

I don%26#039;t have this problem any more. I sent my utilities a form to direct charge my Visa card on the last allowable payment date.

Normally, credit bureaus regard %26quot;late%26quot; as meaning as least 30-days late. It isn%26#039;t worth suing over, but if you were only a few days late and it%26#039;s showing as 30, you can send a dispute letter to the bureau.

If the housing market problem is fixed ,then the credit bureau?

the credit bureau should need overhauling too, right or wrong?.

If the housing market problem is fixed ,then the credit bureau?

I don%26#039;t think so...The credit Bureau use FICO scoring which have been a good predictor of credit. It is the banks and individual who gave and took loans with out seeing income and people buying home they could not afford to begin with. The last people to blame are the credit bureaus.

If the housing market problem is fixed ,then the credit bureau?

The credit bureaus have nothing to do with the current real estate woes....but you can blame mortgage brokers, lenders, Realtors, brokerage firms, wall street and most buyers who allowed their emotion and greed to cloud their judgment. The bureaus report credit data and had nothing to do with what others did with that data.

If the housing market problem is fixed ,then the credit bureau?

I firmly believe that the credit bureaus only report the results of the current economic situation. There are some changes forthcoming to the way the bureaus will report authorized user accounts and they are working to better report the accounts of people that use their credit but pay timely.

GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City,Utah, What Credit Bureau they use for extending credit for Credit Ca

Do anyone now what credit bureau GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City Utah use for extending credit for Credit Care. I want to get dental work done. My insurance cover some but not all. I know GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City Utah offer a credit card for health care. I ask my dentist they do not know nor would GE Money tell me. If anyone can help please let me know do they use Equifax, Experian or Trans Union. GE Money offer instant approval online or over the phone.

GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City,Utah, What Credit Bureau they use for extending credit for Credit Care?

They use Equifax. Most of the time, but not always, it%26#039;s an instant decision.

If your scores are bad, below 600, or if you have fairly recent baddies, you might go through the dental office when applying. Many times having the medical provider apply for you will get you approved.

If your scores are above 600 and if your baddies are old, if you have any, you might just apply online.

If you know how much the dentist is going to charge, for instance they claim it will cost $1000.00, you might ask for $2000 or so.

While they are fairly easy with approvals, they really stink at giving people increases.

If the dentist is going to be fairly high, you will probably be given a 0% promo for X number of months.

If you are given the promo, CareCredit may tell you your payments would be (for example) $10/month. If so, pay $30 or more a month. Be sure to have the promo paid off at least one month early.

GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City,Utah, What Credit Bureau they use for extending credit for Credit Care?

Get a copy of your report first..know what is there then why worry about which one? They are supposed to disclose terms etc..with you before you apply but it doesn%26#039;t make sense why they wouldn%26#039;t be up front about which one they use. Maybe you talked to the wrong person or maybe it is a shady deal. Be careful about charging medical bills on credit cards it will muss you up. I learned the hard way that no one cares if you owe medical bills but if you don%26#039;t pay your card? you are screwed.
